A bumpers width for a first win…

Sonoma Raceway, CA – What a season it has been for the Walker Motorsports Team. We ran the full 2020 United States Touring Car Championship season in the Sportsman (SP) class. This class has plenty of competitive, well sorted out cars and very experienced and fast drivers. We sure dropped into the deep end with our Honda Civic! And what a season it has been! All the way to the finish line (quite literally) with only a bumper width deciding the winner at the last round of this seasons Championship here at Sonoma Raceway…

Final Race of the Season = Final Chance!

San Ramon, CA – The penultimate race of the 2020 United States Touring Car Championship season brought the last chance for a possible race win for Reto Baumann. He had already secured second place in the Championship with no realistic chance of being able to better that position. It did take some luck for Reto to finish on the top step, but that doesn’t mean it is any less deserved. A very solid season comes to an end with a W for Reto which allows him to keep his season streak of winning USTCC races to a third year in a row.

In for a Championship shot...

San Ramon, CA – This is the first season for both car and driver. Gary Trudeau piloting the #52 Hyundai Genesis Coupe for a first win earlier this year and consistent results, entering the penultimate race of the 2020 US Touring Car Championship tied for the lead...

Nose to tail all race long

San Ramon, CA – It comes down to the last race of the season! Rob Harper enters the race with a small 5pts lead over his closest competitor. Double header, double podium!
Deuces all around for Reto Baumann & Dave Brown

San Ramon, CA – September brought a double header USTCC weekend at Buttonwillow. A race on Saturday (Round 4) and one on Sunday (Round 5). Reto Baumann drove the #53 VW Jetta 2.0 GLI to a 2nd in class. Dave Brown, RPM Team Manager and Driver Coach, took the seat for Round 5 and finished 2nd in class as well. Both drivers did very well and brought home very similar results, which is a testament to the class and quality of the driver line up we have.

Two Pole Positions!
Converting isn’t as easy as people seem to think…

San Ramon, CA – We had our hopes up for a Sonoma win repeat for this past weekend’s USTCC double header at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. Pole Position for both Round 4 and 5 made it look like it could happen. A last lap pass in Round 4 and a new competitor coming in for Round 5 that didn’t have to carry any rewards weights, gave Gary two second places and podium finishes. This will make for an exciting last round at Sonoma Oct 10-11 as both Hyundai Genesis Coupes competing in the same class and both driven by a Gary, are currently top of the table with equal points… Sonoma will be the deciding race for the Championship! How close can it get?

Ups and downs…
Rob Harper claims a win and a second-place finish

San Ramon, CA – This is the place where Rob Harper started out the season with an emphatic win in his #28 Corvette. Unfortunately, that Corvette got some problems at later races, which led to Rob changing into a new car, the #28 BMW 335i WTCC race car, which he brought down to Buttonwillow Raceway Park for the double header USTCC race weekend. That did not seem to matter much since he used the grip of the Hankook racing tires to jump to second place by turn 2. “I was excited to get to second place but I was over cautious on lap one and I dropped back to fifth place by the end of lap one,” commented Arsham. He had to do it all again and managed to claw his way back to third place and was closing in on second place before time ran out. “I knew that I had a fast car for the race and I loved the hot temperatures. I was making up lots of time under braking as we selected the right Raybestos brake pad compound for the temperatures,” added Arsham.
