Race Weekend Recap: Gary Sheehan Takes Podium at Thunderhill Raceway

Thunderhill Raceway, CA - May 6th, 2023 - Gary Sheehan, driver of the #31 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
3.8L for GoGoGear.com Racing, battled through a challenging race weekend to secure a podium
finish in the US Touring Car Championship race number 2 at Thunderhill Raceway.

During the qualifying session, Sheehan managed to secure the third spot on the grid, despite
struggling with the balance of the car throughout the weekend. "The car was not behaving well all
weekend. The balance was poor and our lap times were not fast. But we were able to make some
changes to the car which brought it to life, and I was able to qualify in 3rd place, just 0.05 seconds
behind second place," said Sheehan.

In the race, Sheehan had a hard-fought battle with Tony Domenici in his BMW 330i for a lap or so,
battling side-by-side in turns 15, 1, 2, and 3. However, his tire performance dropped off later in the
race, and he was unable to keep up with the first and second-place drivers. Despite this setback,
Sheehan was able to secure a third-place finish and valuable championship points. "I am happy to bring home 3rd place and the championship points it brings," said Sheehan after the race.

With this result, Sheehan currently leads the championship in the TC class. The next race will be held
at Sonoma Raceway on June 25th, where Sheehan hopes to continue his strong performance. "We
leave race 2 with the championship lead. The next race is seven weeks away, at Sonoma Raceway
(my home track), which gives us lots of time to make improvements to the car. It's a high-speed, high-
risk track which really suits my driving style, and I am looking forward to racing there," said Sheehan.
