A strong second place finish for Arsham at round 3

Arsham qualified the Hyundai in second place and would start next to his teammate Ken Kurtz in the other GoGoGear.com/ Konig Wheels Hyundai Genesis. At the drop of the flag, Arsham got a great start and by turn 2 he was in first place and started to pull away. “I was surprised that I was able to pull away a big lead in the opening laps but I knew that Ken was going to be fast,” said Ali Arsham. As the race progressed, Kurtz started to close the gap and by lap 7, the two were bumper to bumper. “Ken was on new tires and I knew once the tires got warm, he would be quick. I was on old tires and was trying to manage the tires so they don’t go away,” added Arsham. The two Hyundais traded the lead twice at turn 7, and once at turn 11 until Kurtz took the lead for good. Arsham lost the win by less than two seconds at Laguna Seca and at Sonoma he was 0.4 seconds behind but was still thrilled with the results. “We are in first place in the Championship and am very happy to see my teammate win. He drove a great race and finishing 1-2-4 for the team (Gordon Pun finished fourth in the Civic) was awesome,” concluded Arsham.
A summer break now means the teams have a chance to work on upgrades until the next race, a 2.5 hour race at Thunderhill at the end of August.
