VT Racing welcomes back Peter Ontiveros as Crew Chief.

VT Racing welcomes back Peter Ontiveros as Crew Chief. Peter started with the team during SCCA days and took a break waiting for his son’s little brother to arrive. 

This was race three of the season an Enduro. This race format is longer and usually requires a pit stop because of its 2 1/2 hour length which is designed to test the durability of machinery and the stamina of drivers.

After the team’s first pit stop, VT Racing was in first place but mischievous gremlins that seem attracted to the C30 attacked and the car lost fuel pressure., Because of this glitch in the machinery the team was relegated to second place. But Tim Hunter still was able set a personal best lap time at the famous Sonoma track.

Sonoma had unseasonably cold weather which could have been an advantage for the C30 given Volvo’s are native to Sweden and because they are turbo charged, they perform better than other race cars built in warmer climates.

K-PAX Racing, Volvo's official motorsport and performance partner back in 2011, built the C30 for the Pirelli World Challenge. VT Racing has one of the only four cars that is still actively racing.
