Race Weekend Recap: Gary Sheehan Overcomes Last-Place Qualifying to Secure Victory at Buttonwillow
Raceway

Buttonwillow Raceway, CA - June 16th, 2024 - In a dramatic turn of events at Buttonwillow Raceway, Gary
Sheehan, driver of the #31 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8L for GoGoGear.com Racing, overcame a challenging
start to claim the first win of the 2024 US Touring Car Championship season. Despite qualifying last due to an early session issue, Sheehan showcased his skill and determination by driving from the back of the grid to victory.

Qualifying did not go as planned for Sheehan, as an issue with the car on lap one forced an early end to his
session. "We encountered a problem that could not be fixed during the session, which was incredibly
frustrating," Sheehan remarked. Consequently, Sheehan had to start the race from the back of the Touring Car class grid.

Despite this setback, Sheehan got an incredible start off the line, moving into second place by the end of the
first lap. He then set his sights on race leader Sean Milburn. "The balance of the car was near perfect here,
and I really had an advantage on Sean in the Sweeper, Riverside, and braking into Grapevine," Sheehan
explained. He capitalized on this advantage, getting a great run through Riverside and making the decisive
pass for the lead into Grapevine. Although Milburn and Sheehan went side-by-side for several corners,
Sheehan managed to maintain his position and secured a hard-fought victory.

This impressive win marks the first victory of the 2024 season for the #31 GoGoGear.com Racing team. "This
win is a testament to the team's hard work and dedication. Starting last and finishing first is an incredible
achievement," Sheehan said.

Looking ahead, race number 4 will be held at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, CA, in July. Both Sheehan and
Milburn consider Sonoma their home track, promising an exciting and competitive race. "We are very familiar with Sonoma and it's always a great place to race. I'm looking forward to the challenge and some great racing with Sean," Sheehan added.
