Tom Lepper Wins an Epic Battle at Thunderhill

April 30, 2023 (Willows, CA) –Tom Lepper, driving the #34 GOGOGEAR Racing Honda Civic won round 2
of the 2023 Hankook Tires United States Touring Car Championship at Thunderhill Raceway, after an
epic battle, moving the driving team of Lepper/McColligan into the Sportsman Class Points Lead.

Tom Lepper started the weekend strong placing the Civic in pole position ahead of the feature race. At
the standing start, the rear-wheel drive BMWs used their launch advantage to move Lepper back to P3
by turn 2.. He was able to quickly move onto the tail of the Speed Traveler BMW for P2 by the end of lap
1. Lepper kept the pressure on and was able to move into the lead with a stellar pass around the
outside of turn 10 on lap 4. The battle was on as the BMW was able to get back into the lead by lap 6
with a great move up the inside of turn 10. The fight was not over as Lepper moved back into P1 with a
move up the inside of turn nine on lap 8. The Speed Traveler BMW continued to run strong laps,
retaking the lead on lap 10 into turn 1. Lepper kept his focus and secured the lead for good with
another stellar pass around the outside of turn 10 on the last lap, taking the take checkered flag with a
hard-fought win!
