The GoGoGear Civic Type R project to debut at the SEMA show

By Reza Arsham

Napa, CA – GoGoGear Racing will be introducing their newest build, a Honda Civic Type R race car, at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. The build will be one of the most exciting cars to come out of the GoGoGear garage in years.

The car is being built with support from many long standing partners of the team such as Konig Wheels, Specialty Products Company, APR, JRZ Suspension, K Tuned, Hasport, Motul, Hankook, Magnaflow, Kaaz, as well as many new companies that are supporting the build.

A great race car needs a great suspension and JRZ dampers are one of the key pieces if you want to win races. The car will be using their 3 way adjustable 11 series dampers to help the car put its Hankook slicks to the ground. Under the hood is a stock K20C1 engine with some upgraded bolt ons to improve flow and reduce friction from new partners such as Radium Engineering and Full Race.

A huge problem with the stock Type R is the insufficient cooling system and that has been addressed by a huge expansion of the cooling system and additional radiators that were added using Fragola Performance lines.

Safety is of course the first concern in race cars and the roll cage was designed by CageKits.com with their beautifully designed system. Sparco has provided the balance of safety products such as seat, window net, steering wheel, fire system, belts and more.

The car is set to compete in the United States Touring Car Championship next season. There are lots of areas that will need to be improved as the development continues but SEMA should be the perfect place to show off the Type R.
