Seong Kim Cruises to P4 at Thunderhill Raceway

Willows, CA (April 30, 2023) – Seong Kim, driver of the #35 GoGoGear BMW, secured a P4

finish in the Touring Car class at Thunderhill Raceway. Teammates Gary Sheehan and Fred

Snow placed P3 and P5, respectively. All three drivers celebrated the Top Team Award, which

was presented to the GoGoGear Racing Team.

Despite the weekend’s heated battles within the TC and SP classes, Kim found himself driving

in the “eye of the hurricane”, so to speak. After a brief melee at the start line, Kim maintained P4

for the entirety of what appeared to be an uneventful race for him. “Once the field settled in, my

goal was to lock in P4 and bring the car home,” said Kim. “With a couple of unexpected offs

during practice and a packed race calendar over the next few months, managing the car and

tires became the priority.”

USTCC Round 3 and Round 4 are both slated for Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, CA. With just

under two months left until the Round 3 race on June 25, teams and their drivers will have an

opportunity to hone their midseason strategies and fine-tune their equipment for what is

arguably the most technically demanding track on the USTCC season calendar.
