Race Management at its Best

San Ramon, CA – The challenge following a win is always keeping the momentum up. Bob Accardo in his #29 Howe Chassis 5th Gen Chevy Camaro did exactly that for Round 2 of the 2022 United States Touring Car Championship in the GT class at Sonoma Raceway!

Life’s Good Racing prepping the car combined with race support provided by Red Panther Motorsport, and a ‘cool as a cucumber’ executed race by Accardo, was the winning combination for this weekend. The only real scare came at the start, when Accardo spun the tires. Fast hands and reactions were needed to keep the car pointed forward but true to form, Accardo grabbed the lead early.

For several laps the leading group of cars stayed within striking distance but Accardo managed to distance himself from the pack slowly but steadily pulling away towards the checkered flag and his Round 2 win.

This makes two out of two for Accardo and the #29 Team now, who is leading the 2022 USTCC GT class in Championship points. The next round is at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, and will be one to look forward to as Accardo will stretch the legs of the Chevy Camaro on the high banked oval before attacking the infield road course!

Bob Accardo reviews his Round TWO performance:
“Back to back wins never come easy. Sonoma is our home track so I was comfortable from the start and the momentum from round one gave me confidence. The car worked well all weekend long. To run without any issues is a victory in itself and is all thanks to the people around me. Leading the Championship in points is great, but it’s still early in the season. I’m very much looking forward to the next round in Fontana – Auto Club Speedway is a track I haven’t been to yet, but is fast, and looks like a lot of fun to drive. I’m sure we’ll be making a few gear changes before getting it right, but I’m excited to rip this Big Red Camaro around that high banked oval!”
