Flag to Flag Racing

San Ramon, CA – Rob Harper brought back his #28 BMW 330i BTCC Wide Body race car to this round at Sonoma Raceway. The car underwent a thorough and detailed inspection after the issues from last round.

Prepared by Bidwell Automotive of Rancho Cordova, the car performed without any mechanical issues. However, the weekend still wasn’t without any drama for Rob Harper, since the splitter came loose and started flapping wildly underneath the car. The team went on to reinforce the splitter mounts as well as other parts until the issue was resolved. None of that stopped Rob from putting down some of the fastest laps in the USTCC field over the race weekend.

Come Sunday, Rob was ready to get this race taken care of, having qualified the car on pole. The only competition he saw, was starting right beside him on the front row as well. A clean and superb drive got Rob the flag-to-flag win in GT class together with the triple crown of pole position, fastest race lap and race win. What a deserved weekend for Rob after a difficult start into the season.
Rob Harper reviews his Round THREE performance:
“Finally, a 2021 race weekend with no real issues! At least not mechanical. The guys at Bidwell Automotive did so well in prepping the car and even supported us trackside, working alongside Red Panther Motorsport. Strategizing with the RPM team drivers and coach Dave Brown is just a great experience, overall. We finally got our wheel situation figured out and the beautiful 3-piece Forgeline's performed flawless!!! I continuously got faster over the weekend and couldn’t be happier to come away with this triple crown of pole, fastest lap and race win. We extended the lead in the Championship as well, which will help for the rest of the season. I am very excited to head to Laguna Seca for round four!”

A great weekend for Rob Harper in his #28 BMW. He now has a good lead in the Championship, and we hope that this weekend is a showing of promise for what more there is to come in this 2021 USTCC season.
