Doug Makishima With a Podium Against All Odds at Laguna Seca

Napa, CA– September 19, 2021 –Doug Makishima had a rough start to 2021 but despite a shoulder surgery and an unfortunate accident leaving him with a few broken ribs, he is back behind the wheel of a race car, and not one that he is familiar with. Even with all the setbacks, Makishima worked his way back to the podium on Sunday proving that he is still the man to beat.

Qualifying 1

Makishima behind the wheel of the #19 Summit Tech/ Rose Construction BMW M3 was fighting against understeer all weekend. That didn’t faze the veteran driver as he muscles his way through the problem and puts the car 8th out of a 33 car grid for Saturday’s race.

Qualifying 2

Saturday’s qualifying 2 saw Makishima pushed the white #19 BMW M3 to it’s limits despite its flaws of being a freshly put together car, qualified 4th in the TC category


Race 1

Seans’s village on a pro weekend when there is still up all Not too long after our talk. Makishima came home in 4th place after a lot of battle on track. The very hot weather made me think you’d be out already. The tenacity in Makishima shows fee ethie to this thing among future events with NASA USTCC and plenty of room in TC.

Race 2

Sunday race saw a lot of action and amongst that is Makishima, locked in a tight battle with teammate Daniel Rose and Viktor Czapla in the Audi R8. Makishima emerged on top after several laps of going back and forth.
Makishima crossed the line in 3rd for the ST class and was delighted by the result.
