Andrew Conner wins Round 1 of the United States Touring Car Championship East.
April 03, 2022 (Summit Point, W.V.) – Andrew Conner, driving the #66 On Q Racing BMW E90 finished first in Round 1 of the Hankook Tires United States Touring Car Championship East Coast Series at Summit Point Motorsports Park.
On Q Racing was looking forward to kicking off the new Series' first race of 2022. “Summit Point is a fast, fun track that just so happens to be the track where I entered my first competition drivers’ school, back in 2005”, stated team driver Andrew Conner. The team was testing new suspension settings looking to achieve maximum performance. Saturday qualifying was a learning experience for all cars on track, being the 1st run of the 2022 season, and having less than desired weather conditions. The day started off with sleet and a few snow flurries, coupled with blustery winds, it made car setup a true science project. “My plan is to go out and put down a few solid laps to get some heat into the New Hankook F200’s, and see where we are with the setup”, stated Andrew. “I could not be more impressed with both the setup and these Hankook F200s”, Andrew stated during his post qual team debrief. “If we run this suspension setup “as is” and just take pressures up 2 pounds on all four corners, we are going to be in for a solid run come Sunday’s Feature Race”. Sunday’s Feature saw On Q Racing starting last on the grid due to a weight compliance issue post Qualifying. At the drop of the green, the red E90 made its way through the field, picking off one car per lap, until landing in a solid 1st place, where it stayed until the checked fell. “This car was a rocket, The team did a great job, my fellow competitors ran a clean race from flag to flag, excellent weekend had by all” were Andrew’s words as he headed to the podium.
