Napa, Ca – The United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC) West Region season will start at a track that the championship has never competed on, Buttonwillow Raceway’s The Circuit. The series will start their season on April 25-26, 2026 at the new race track.
USTCC is the longest running professional racing series in the United States and last year the season opener was scheduled for the same course. However, the track did not have some of its building permits completed in time which meant that the event had to be cancelled. So it should be exciting for the drivers and teams to race at the newest race circuit in California.
To add to the challenge of racing at a track that few have driven on, the race is scheduled to be 45 minutes in length which is going to test some of the cars in the race. Many of the more powerful turbo cars have smaller fuel tanks which does not provide a long range.
The other 6 races in the 2026 season are expected to be finalized in the upcoming weeks. It is expected for the championship to visit Sonoma Raceway, Thunderhill Raceway Park, Laguna Seca Raceway and Buttonwillow Raceway Park’s classic circuit.
USTCC is a professional road racing series comprising of late model sport compact sedans such as BMW 3 series, Mazdaspeed 3, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette, Porsche 911, Audi R8, Ford Mustang, Honda Civic and others. The cars use slightly modified engines and highly modified suspensions with aerodynamic ground effects and sticky Hankook slick race tires. The races can be seen livestreamed exclusively on the Final Drive TV channel on YouTube as well as PowerTube TV available on Dish Network, DirecTV, Hulu, Amazon, Roku and AT&T U-verse. The reality TV show Making the Grid is also shown exclusively on PowerTube TV. For more information on USTCC, visit www.ustcc.com.
