June 28, 2026 (Millville, N.J.) — The United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC) East rolled into Millville, N.J., for Round 3 of its 2026 season.
The weekend threatened typical South Jersey weather — hot and humid with rain always on the horizon — but Daniel Szwarc, Robert Benson, Michael McLaughlin, Patryk Tararuj and Andrew Conner arrived ready to do battle on the 1.9‑mile, flowing and fast Lightning Raceway.
Super Touring Andrew Conner won the Super Touring race in his E90 BMW. Post‑race Conner said, “Once again the Hankook F200s were spot on. Grip was plentiful and predictable; even as the track became greasy as the race went on, we are always impressed with the F200s.”
Touring Car (TC) The TC race was won by Patryk Tararuj in his BRZ, with Dan Szwarc in his 370Z finishing second and Robert Benson in his VW Jetta rounding out the podium in third. Michael McLaughlin was unable to grid due to a turbo oil line failure.
The TC battle was a close, hard‑fought affair: Benson pressured Tararuj while Szwarc stayed in contention for the top step. At the checkered flag, Tararuj proved too elusive and took the top honors. Benson was pleased with his podium despite a VW TCR sequential mishap that ultimately cost him the pace needed to keep the Jetta ahead of Tararuj. Szwarc continues to build his race craft and car preparation and is likely to find the top step on the podium soon.
All drivers showed strong pace, even with the inter‑class traffic typical of the Big Bore class. Fans were treated to the door‑to‑door racing the USTCC provides.
Up next USTCC East heads to Watkins Glen International for Round 4, a double‑points weekend.
