May 25, 2025 (Millville, N.J.) – The United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC) East continued its 2025 season with Round 2 at New Jersey Motorsports Park’s Lightning Raceway, in Millville, N.J.
Anthony Piselli (#44 Subaru WRX), Martin Szwarc (#93 Honda Civic Si Supercharged) and Andrew Conner (#66 BMW 325i) made up the entrants for the Super Touring class.
Touring Car was populated with several new US Touring Car Championship entrants, Dan Szwarc in his Nissan 370Z, Mike McLaughlin in the silver Audi A4 wagon, and Brandon Lewis in a B-Spec Ford Fiesta (his temporary chariot while a new TC car is prepared).
The weather was typical for May in New Jersey. Track temps were cool enough to keep the Hankook F200s from experiencing overheating or accelerated degradation, and yet warm enough to yield predictable grip.
Anthony Piselli in his well-sorted WRX was able to slice through the field at the drop of the green, putting a comfortable lead in place between him and Andrew Conner in the E90 BMW. Martin Szwarc in his supercharged Honda Civic unfortunately suffered a catastrophic engine failure during Saturday’s heat race and was unable to join the fight during Sunday’s Feature.
Ex-Indy Lights driver and weekend Fun-Runner Patrick Tararuj joined the series on Saturday and immediately captured the top step in TC with his beautifully liveried Subaru BRZ. Daniel Szwarc finished in a commendable 2nd place in his freshly built Nissan 370Z, with Brandon Lewis coming closely in 3rd in his Ford Fiesta, and Mike McLaughlin's MTM Audi A4 Avant Wagon capping a reliable run to come home 4th in TC.
