Round 2 of the United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC) proved to be a thrilling event coming down to the last lap. The race took place at the iconic Laguna Seca Raceway, known for its challenging turns and elevation changes, which added to the excitement of the day.

As the green flag waved, drivers jostled for position. Andy Chittum took the pole pole position in the Sportsman class in the Mad Man Motorsports Mazda MX5. He was quickly overtaken by the GoGoGear.com/Konig Wheels Honda Civic of Tom Lepper and the pair started a race long duel. Lepper seemed to have the upper hand but he reported brake issues which caused him to be passed by the quick Mazda of Chittum who finished first. Lepper took second and Michael McColligan once again finished third in the Konig Wheels Honda Civic.

The Touring Car battle was between Ali Arsham in the GoGoGear.com/Konig Wheels Hyundai Genesis who started in second place alongside the  GoGoGear.com/Konig Wheels Honda Civic Type R of Reza Arsham. Reza took the early lead and was much quicker in the early stages and built a 14 second gap by the middle of the race. Ali kept the pressure on and started to close the gap in the second half of the race. At the finish line, the gap was less than two seconds. Finishing third was Seong Kim in the Flywheel Motorsport BMW M3.

The GT class was lead by Ehsan Farkhondeh, driving a Chevrolet Camaro GT4R. He took the win over the ARG Motorsport BMW M4 GTS of Doug Makishima.

As teams prepare for the next round, they can look forward to more exhilarating racing action in only a few weeks.
