Double header, double podium!
Deuces all around for Reto Baumann & Dave Brown

San Ramon, CA – September brought a double header USTCC weekend at Buttonwillow. A race on Saturday (Round 4) and one on Sunday (Round 5). Reto Baumann drove the #53 VW Jetta 2.0 GLI to a 2nd in class. Dave Brown, RPM Team Manager and Driver Coach, took the seat for Round 5 and finished 2nd in class as well. Both drivers did very well and brought home very similar results, which is a testament to the class and quality of the driver line up we have.

Reto Baumann reviews his Round 4 performance:
“We ran this track configuration of Buttonwillow Raceway Park mid-June already. I was able to better my lap time by over a second. Mostly due to a change in set-up as well as some excellent coaching from both Matt Jaskol and Dave Brown. The team prepared the car very well and we ran without any issues over the course of the weekend. We finally get to where we want to be in terms of reliability. Still, we have to find a solution for being underpowered and overweight. And we will be able to sort that out as well.”

Dave Brown reviews his Round 5 performance:
“It has been some time for me since the last time I actively competed in a USTCC round. Incredibly thankful for that opportunity to race this fun and fast car on a track configuration that is one of my favorite layouts. I had the same issues as Reto at the start, trying to manage the wheel spin. Lost two places, which I was able to claw back within the first lap. I am happy to bring home a podium finish for the team. We’ve got more optimization work to do, but that’s what this team is really good at.”
