Sonoma, CA -- Curt Simmons won the last Hankook United States Touring
Car Championship (USTCC) race of the season in convincing fashion and
clinched his first championship in the process on November 11, 2007 at
Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. Simmons, driving the Sunnyvale
Dodge SRT-4, ran a trouble free race in very tough conditions. Ali
Arsham locked his second place in the championship with a second place
finish in the race in the Gogogear.com/Konig Wheels Honda Civic Si.
Rounding out the top three was Michael McColligan in the
Mazdatrix/Racing Beat Mazda RX8. McColligan would have finished second
had it not been for a pit stop to fix a loose muffler.
McColligan was also the recipient of the G-Tech G-Move of the Race award
for his spin on the opening lap. Fortunately the spin resulted in no
damage and he continued on.
