Arsham Snow team finish second at Thunderhill seaon opener
Willows, CA – Ali Arsham, driving the GoGoGear.com/Konig Wheels Hyundai Genesis Coupe finished second in the United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC) round 1 at Thunderhill Raceway on April 24, 2022.
Arsham did not have it easy in qualifying and was trying to deal with traffic while managing his tires. “The traffic was bad. On my hot lap I was doing well but got stuck behind some slower cars that killed the lap and had to abort after that to save my tires for the race,” said Arsham after qualifying.
At the start of the race, a stalled car created a lot of commotion which resulted in another car colliding with Arsham’s Hyundai. “The damage was minimal but by the time I got out of harm’s way, I was 30 seconds behind the guy in front and there is no way to close that gap unless he makes a mistake,” added Arsham.
At the end, a second place was a good way to start the season. The team shall regroup and prepare for round 2 at Sonoma Raceway on May 22, 2022.
