LeMans Karting-Fremont Becomes
the Official Indoor Karting Center of USTCC
June 30, 2005 / Richmond,
CA - LeMans Karting, an indoor karting facility located
in Fremont, California, has signed on to become the
Official Indoor Karting Center of the Hankook United
States Touring Car Championship (USTCC). LeMans Karting
is the premier European-style indoor karting facility
in Northern California and uses U.K. built high performance
karts with 270cc engines. Under the terms of the agreement
LeMans Karting will also be providing prizes for the
teams. The LeMans Karting-Fremont Driver's Tune-Up Award
will consist of three $200 gift certificates that will
be given out to the three slowest eligible drivers in
each of the remaining West Coast USTCC races.
"Additional practice and seat time
are the keys for driver improvement, but who can afford
that?" said Rick Gaan, President of LeMans Karting.
"Our goal is to offer a cost-effective and convenient
way for USTCC drivers to tune-up in between races"
continued Gaan.
"LeMans Karting is a great facility
for everyone from the total beginner on up to the professional
driver who wants to improve his times and overall racing
skills. We are proud to have LeMans Karting as part of
our family", added Ali Arsham, Series Coordinator
for USTCC.
LeMans Karting will also be hosting the
annual dinner and awards banquet for the USTCC teams at
the end of the season. "Banquets are usually boring
affairs but in true USTCC spirit, we wanted a different
approach." commented Arsham. Dinner and awards will
start about 8 PM and run until 11 PM. Then from 11 PM
until 2 AM, the USTCC drivers, officials and crew members
will take it to the track in a private duel to crown a
karting champion.
