MINIdeck Motorsports at Long Beach Grand Prix

April 12, 2006 / Long Beach, CA - MINIdeck Motorsports with the USTCC #58 MINI S in tow where invited to attend Round 1 of the CHAMP Cars Racing Series at the Long Beach Grand Prix this past Sunday April 9, 2006. As guests of Fireball Tim Racing and Meguiar’s , the #58 MINI was shown just behind the grandstands at turn 9 and 10. Long Beach offered many off-track activities and the fans had plenty to see and do between the different racing events. This faired well for the team members, Rich, Brigett and Grace Peterson who, answered questions and promoted USTCC racing for the entire day.

“More then one fan asked if the MINI was racing on Sunday”, said driver Rich Peterson. “We explained about the United States Touring Car Championship and that the series will be a support race to the Champ Car Races at Portland and San Jose.” Many inquired when the series will be running in the Southern California area. “We could see that the interest in a sedan-based series is very strong in So Cal”, said Rich.

Crew Chief, Grace Peterson was interviewed by Fireball Tim of CARTV.com about the racing MINI and Team MINIdeck Motorsports’ upcoming schedules. “Grace is very excited about the race series, she knows the cars, the schedules and the details of our MINI,” explained Rich, “she makes an excellent spokesperson and is an asset to our team.”
